NAHL Minnesota Wilderness Associate Coach Allegedly Caught Soliciting Underage Boy

In a pair of YouTube videos released on July 10th, the YouTube account named “Midwest Predator Catchers” shows an encounter with a male that, per the account, was messaging and soliciting a 16-year-old boy. Upon the initial encounter, the man identifies himself as “Brendan Phelps” after being threatened by the men taking the video that they would call police if he did not give them his real name.

While no images of the conversations between Phelps and the men taking the video were shown, Phelps admits to sending illicit photos and videos to someone he thought was a 16-year-old boy.

We want to stress that as of the time of writing this post, Tend The Farm is unaware of any criminal charges being filed regarding this or any other encounter, and are not making any direct accusations against Phelps, but are only reporting on the contents of the video.

Phelps has been with the Minnesota Wilderness the past three seasons as their associate coach, but per junior hockey advisor Stephen Heisler, Phelps has been fired from the team. At the time of writing this post however, Phelps is still listed on the team’s Hockey Operations webpage.

Prior to joining the Wilderness for the 2019-20 season, Phelps had coached various levels in the Rocky Mountain RoughRiders youth organization.
