USPHL NCDC Reportedly Expanding to Rock Springs

The United States Premier Hockey League’s National Collegiate Development Conference is reportedly expanding to Rock Springs, Wyoming as part of the NCDC’s push into the western US beginning with the 2023-24 season. The westward expansion was announced by the USPHL last season, with the intent of promoting the USPHL Premier’s Mountain Division this coming season.

A letter was sent out by the new Rock Springs ownership, announcing they had purchased the franchise rights from the Prospectors team that played last season, and will be promoting the team to the NCDC.

The letter was signed by new owner Wesley Mussio, who had previously owned the British Columbia Hockey League’s Nanaimo Clippers, selling the team after the 2021-22 season citing Mussio would be moving to the United States. Mussio confirmed the new team on his Facebook as well.

As of now, Rock Springs will be joining the Pueblo Bulls, Provo Predators, Utah Outliers, Ogden Mustangs, and the Idaho Falls Spud Kings. With the addition of the Colorado Grit in the NAHL and Greeley, Colorado, we’re still waiting to hear confirmation regarding the Northern Colorado Eagles’ status for next season as well.
