Colorado Grit Announce Haddon As Head Coach

Days after being announced as the newest expansion team in the North American Hockey League, the Colorado Grit have announced that Steve Haddon will be aboard as the head coach of the team in their inaugural 2023-24 season. This will mark Haddon’s 11th year of coaching as he is currently in his 10th season of coaching with the USPHL’s Northern Colorado Eagles.

Haddon joined the Eagles in 2013 while the Eagles were a part of the Western States Hockey League and was named General Manager of the team beginning in 2018. The Eagles then moved to the USPHL to begin the 2020-21 season.

The announcement of Haddon to the Grit adds more questions to the list of how things will look in Greeley next season, after the Eagles were originally announced as one of six Mountain Division teams to make the move to the USPHL’s Tier-2 NCDC beginning next season. The move marks the second aspect of the current Eagles organization moving to the NAHL as current owner of the Eagles, Casey Bradshaw, is a part of the Grit’s ownership team as well.

As of yet, there has been no official announcement one way or the other regarding the future of the Eagles, and Tend The Farm’s request for comment has not been returned.
