Oklahoma Warriors Name Berge Assistant Coach

The Oklahoma Warriors have announced that they have named Josh Berge as assistant coach of the team, joining Garrett Roth on the coaching staff. Berge joins the bench after previously being named the Director of Business Operations after the team announced the move from Wichita Falls to Oklahoma City.

Brennan Couet, who was the Warriors’ associate head coach following the completion of his junior career with Wichita Falls, is no longer mentioned on the team’s website.

Berge last coached for the OKC Blazers in the 2020-21 season, guiding the team to a Fraser Cup finals appearance, but was eliminated in the semifinals matchups. Berge was reported to be returning to the Blazers/Ice Hawks per a summer 2021 update by the team, but was not behind the bench by season’s start, with Chris Hille behind the bench instead.

Berge began his head coaching journey in 2013-14 with the Valencia Flyers, where he stayed on as coach for five seasons. In 2018-19, Berge returned home to Oklahoma as he took over the head coaching duties for the University of Oklahoma ACHA team for two seasons, and then made the move to the Blazers in 2020-21.
