It became officially official as the Wichita Falls Warriors announced they would be relocating to Oklahoma City for the 2022-23 season, after the team and city were unable to come to terms for an extension of their lease agreement. As a result, the team announced the move to OKC, and will be playing out of the Blazers Ice Centre next season.
With the move will come some rebranding. Images of the new logo and name have been uploaded to the NAHL’s website, confirming the team will be named the Oklahoma Warriors.
The current Wichita Falls logo features a Spartan helmet on a shield, with an outline of the state of Texas in the background. The new logo will now feature arrows set to either side of the Spartan’s helmet, paying homage to the First American’s history within Oklahoma.
Also adjusted is the shield itself, as it now takes a shape closer to that of an arrowhead.
