After a busy week of schedule changes, teams folding, divisions going dormant, and teams announcing they wish to keep playing, we now have confirmation of a seven-team “Provincial” division in the WSHL.
With the folding of the Utah Altitude, and what we’ll consider a dormancy for the Seattle Totems and Rogue Valley Royals for now, the league will now see the Vernal Oilers and Bellingham Blazers move to the Provincial division to continue play with the Canadian-based teams.
Also announced within the Bellingham post announcing the move, the league’s Las Vegas Showcase looks to still be planned for December.
Some re-tooling of the WSHL schedule will be forthcoming. As was originally scheduled, the Oilers will be traveling to Washington next weekend to open up the season for the Blazers. We’ll have to see how things shake out for the US/Canada matchups for the remainder of the season.
