Following the folding of the Utah Altitude, some schedule adjustments were coming within the Western States Hockey League, but the already-scheduled series November 5th-7th between the Bellingham Blazers and Vernal Oilers has been postponed as well.
Vernal was set to have their home opener on November 5th against the Blazers, but that no longer looks to be the case, as the Blazers announced that they will instead be traveling to Seattle to take on the Totems on November 5th in a single game this weekend. No indications have shown that Rogue Valley will be making the trip to Utah instead.
Per Black Dog Hockey’s statement regarding the weekend: “Due to the unexpected folding of the Utah Altitude franchise, the WSHL will be undergoing major rescheduling over the next few weeks. Any games involving the Altitude have been canceled. Please check back regularly for updates to the broadcast schedule. For the weekend of 11/5-11/7, the 3-game series between Bellingham and Vernal has been rescheduled to a later date. A single game on 11/5 between Bellingham and Seattle has been added to the schedule.”
Seattle was originally scheduled to host the Altitude at home this weekend, with that series obviously being cancelled.
As of now, the series between Vernal and Bellingham for the weekend of November 12th is still scheduled, as the Oilers will be traveling to Washington for that series. As it sits currently, the Oilers are then set to return home for the November 19th weekend to host Rogue Valley in the Royals season opener.
