After news that the Utah Altitude have ceased operations within the Western States Hockey League earlier this week, moves within the WSHL continue as information has become available that the Rogue Valley Royals have made a coaching move, and will be receiving some players from the Altitude as well.
As first noted by The Junior Hockey Podcast, rumors began that the Royals had let go their original coach in Ty Smith, and would be replacing him with David Canfield, who was initially the coach for the Altitude.
Tend The Farm has since confirmed that Canfield would be taking over for Smith, with Canfield expected to arrive in Medford, Oregon today (November 3rd), as training camp began earlier this week for the Royals. Some of the players from the Altitude had reportedly been re-allocated to the Royals as well to help shore up roster numbers in the northwest.
As of now, no names have been added to the WSHL protected list by the Royals, and we wait to see how Bellingham and Seattle are doing as well. As of this post, the Blazers currently have four players rostered, while the Totems sit at eleven players.
