The story continues between the Newfoundland Growlers and the Mile One Centre, as it has been announced that the Mile One Centre has suspended the Growlers from playing in the arena following allegations of “disrespectful workplace conduct.”
St. John’s Sports & Entertainment Ltd. announced that they have suspended the Growlers’ home games pending the results of a third-party investigation into allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct, as well as the leasing agreement that the team and SJSE have, essentially banning any team access to the building.

St. John’s Mayor and Chair of SJSEL, Danny Breen was quoted that “Employees of SJSEL have brought forward allegations of disrespectful workplace conduct against staff at DSE that must be fully investigated.”
The ECHL has already confirmed the Growlers’ first six home games of the 2021-22 season will be played at Coca-Cola Coliseum, home of the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies. The Growlers will host Adirondack on November 5, 6 and 7 and Worcester on November 12, 13 and 14.
The news comes a day after the Growlers announced an issue with the ticketing system through the Mile One Centre, and single game tickets having been unavailable for purchase.
