The Slave Lake Icedogs announced they would be retaining their coaching staff for the 2021-22 GMHL season, keeping on head coach Gregg Kennedy and bringing back Jerry Vale as an assistant coach.
Kennedy joined the Icedogs last season, heading up the team to an 11-9-0 record in Slave Lake’s shortened season, and ultimately a second-place finish in the West Division after falling to High Prairie in the playoff finals.
Vale returns to the Icedogs after serving as head coach of the team in the 2019-20 season with a 24-12-6 record, and first place in the West Division prior to the season being cut short by COVID.
