Per the Anchorage Wolverines Facebook and Twitter, the team will be announcing their “launch” on April 14th at 4pm Alaska Time (8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific). The team was previously announced by the NAHL on March 22nd.
No mention was made as to what exactly would be announced, but one would imagine the team’s logo will likely be revealed. From the information we’ve received, we expect a modernized version of the original Alaska Wolverines logo that existed from 1973-78.
While we haven’t seen any possible wordmarks, the mascot itself looks to be the modernized wolverine image from the original logo, focusing on just the front half, while utilizing a similar red color scheme.
